About the Authoress
Lucine Elizabeth Watson, named for her mother, aunt, and grandmother, is a lady of regal name, undistinguished lineage, and modest means. She passes her days keeping the books of her brother’s business—an occupation both practical and, some say, unseemly for a lady—and her evenings writing love stories, quietly hoping that life might pen one for her in return.

Her work has been described as "far too detailed to be entirely fictional," but Miss Watson wishes to assure readers that any resemblance to living persons—especially those with connections to the region’s more decorated families—is purely coincidental. And whilst it is unfortunate that such coincidences tend to occur when most inconvenient, Miss Watson remains dedicated to the pursuit of truth—or something rather like it.

She has been called a romantic, a menace, and (by one indignant bachelor) a “hazard to civil society.” She took it, of course, as the highest of compliments.
Some stories simply beg to be told.

If you find yourself in possession of information too good to keep—or an opinion too scandalous to speak—Miss Watson invites you to commit it to writing.

She adores a proper letter… provided, of course, it meets her standards for intrigue, mischief, or emotional devastation.
She welcomes letters.
She does not welcome corrections.

Those who disagree with her version of events are encouraged to take it up with her publisher.
He has a very efficient system for misplacing correspondence.
